In a special event that demonstrated the Kano State Government's commitment to the progress of youth, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf organized a dinner for students who completed their Master's Degree studies abroad. The event took place at the Government House in Kano, 

where the governor expressed his pride and joy in the achievements of the students.

In his speech, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf commended the students for their diligence and excellence in their studies, emphasizing that the government would continue to support youth in becoming leaders for the development of the community.

The students expressed their happiness and gratitude to the Kano government for providing them with the opportunity to expand their education abroad. The dinner further strengthened the positive relationship between the government and its people, especially the youth, who are seen as the foundation for the development of the state and the country as a whole.

This also reinforced that the Abba Gida-Gida administration is committed to fulfilling its promises to build quality education in Kano.

We welcomed 150 beneficiaries of the Kano State foreign postgraduate scholarship programme, whom are back in Kano after completing their master’s degree program in India.

The beneficiaries represent a diverse group of institutions, with 150 graduating from Sharda University, India, as part of 420 first class holders whom are sponsored by Kano state government under the 1001 foriegn postgraduate scholarship scheme. 

Apart from the 150 graduates from Sharda University, there are 98 from  Mewar University, 58 from Symbiosis University, 30 from Kalinga University, 29 from SR University, 23 from Swarnim University, and 33 from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), among others.

In a reception held at the Government House, I commended the students for their hard work, dedication and outstanding performance, noting that the foreign scholarship programme is a cornerstone of our administration’s vision for human capital development. 

I also announced automatic employment for graduates in engineering, medicine, pharmaceutical, and other health-related fields. 

This move underscores our administration’s commitment to addressing the shortage of skilled healthcare professionals, and improving the state’s healthcare system and infrastructure development.
