Kwankwaso and Ganduje Should Reconcile if They Truly Care About Kano's Progress - Murtala Sule Garo
The former Commissioner for Local Government in Kano State and the deputy governorship candidate of the APC in the 2023 elections, Murtala Sule Garo, has expressed concern over the ongoing discord between former governors of the state, Senator Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Kwankwaso and Ganduje, who were once political allies, have been embroiled in a conflict that has persisted since 2016.
Speaking at a gathering of former members of the 8th and 9th Kano State House of Assembly, Garo called on Ganduje and Kwankwaso to unite for the progress of Kano.
"My appeal is to our former governors. It's disappointing that in a state like Kano, you don't see the kind of unity displayed by former governors in states like Zamfara, a state far behind Kano. In Zamfara, their former governors come together, regardless of political and ideological differences, to discuss matters that will advance their state.
"But here in Kano, it’s surprising that our leaders, our elders, the former governors, cannot meet and deliberate on what will bring development to Kano.
"Therefore, we are pleading with them; we are calling on them to unite, and we are praying for them to put aside their differences if they truly care about the progress of Kano," Garo said.
